BECOME DAISY'S FRIEND AND SUPPORT THE SERIOUS FUN CHILDREN'S SERIES

Through our Serious Fun Children’s Series, The Grand 1894 Opera House offers children the opportunity to experience the magic of a live performance in a unique, historic setting. Based on popular children’s books, the Serious Fun Children’s Series performances also help children visualize these books in a new way, imagine new outcomes and get excited about reading.

Daisy’s Friends is a program designed to provide disadvantaged students with the opportunity to attend Serious Fun student performances at The Grand during the school year. Daisy’s Friends began with an idea and a gift made to The Grand in memory of Daisy Ruth Peterek, who was lost to us at the very young age of five months. Her parents, Heather and Ben, have a unique and long-standing personal connection to The Grand and The Grand’s Board of Directors embraced the idea of honoring Daisy’s memory with this special, ongoing tribute.

If you would like to provide this opportunity to children in the Galveston area, please click here. We believe that by investing in our children today, we pave the way for a better tomorrow.

A $50 contribution allows admission for 10 children to attend a show.
